About Bitify a crypto-marketplace & auction site
Bitify started as CryptoThrift (around 2013) — a bitcoin / litecoin-based marketplace — and was rebranded to Bitify in 2015.
Its core offer: a peer-to-peer (P2P) marketplace / auction platform where users could buy and sell physical goods, digital products, and services — using cryptocurrency (primarily Bitcoin / Litecoin) instead of fiat.
It included a built-in escrow service, meaning that when a buyer paid (in crypto), the funds would be held in escrow until the buyer confirmed receipt of the goods — offering a layer of protection typical of trusted marketplaces.
At its peak, Bitify had thousands of listings spanning a wide range of categories: computer hardware/software, digital games, gift cards, even luxury goods, collectibles — anything sellers & buyers could agree to transacting with crypto.
In short: Bitify functioned as a kind of “crypto-version” of a marketplace/auction + escrow site — a way for people to buy/sell goods and services using cryptocurrency rather than traditional payment methods, with escrow to help manage trust/risk.
